Be Present, Inc.
Invites you to
The National Conference on
Race, Gender, Power & Class
september 25-28, 2008
walker creek ranch, petaluma, ca
Twenty-eight women, girls, men and boys will host this Conference to share best practices on how to use the Be Present Empowerment Model® to transform ourselves, our workplaces, our organizations and communities.
The Conference builds upon an 18-month quarterly facilitators’ training during which this diverse group of participants practiced an innovative model for exploring how the daily experiences of race, gender, power and class affect us individually as we attempt to work collectively for social justice and systemic change. Having incorporated this model into our own lives, the facilitators now invite you to join us in creating an open forum in which to hold these conversations among people with a diverse range of class experiences, races, ethnicities, ages and abilities.
Women, men and transgender people of all ages are invited to join us in a community of practice.

Be Present, Inc. believes that in order to create peace and justice for all people, it is everyone’s responsibility to critically examine the impact of race, gender, power and class on the effectiveness of the social change movement. It is from this understanding that we can build better leadership models and create healthier systems that sustain us. We are, and must recognize ourselves as, an integral part of what is and what must be changed. When we do, we can take responsibility and model a new way to foster understanding, promote peace and work toward social and economic justice.
